Winning Edge Settles Patent Lawsuit with SportsDirect and Covers Media Group

General Patent Corporation Acts as Licensing Agent

Suffern, NY - July 28, 2008 - General Patent Corporation (GPC), a leading patent licensing and enforcement firm, announced today on behalf of its client, Winning Edge International, formerly known as GWIN, that Winning Edge has settled its patent infringement lawsuit against Canadian corporation SportsDirect, Inc. and its subsidiary, Irish corporation Covers Media Group Ltd.

A lawsuit against Sportsdirect, Inc., Covers Media Group Ltd., Vegas Experts.com, Inc., Vegas Insider.com, Preferred Picks Publications and Don Best Sports was filed in August 2006 in the Eastern District of Texas (2:06 CV 318) for the infringement of Winning Edge's U.S. Patent No. 6,260,019 (the Patent). GPC previously announced settlements with all of the other defendants.

Winning Edge owns U.S. Patent No. 6,260,019 titled "Web-Based Prediction Marketplace". The patented technology pertains to the on-line prediction of future events.
